PANAMA CITY BEACH, Florida — A local developer has submitted a rezoning request to turn a vacant 5.6-acre beach front property into a recreational vehicle park on South Thomas Drive.
Owners of nearby condos told the Panama City News Herald they are concerned about the development and fear it will decrease the value of their property and the income they could make renting their property out to vacationers.
However, Panama City Beach planning director Mel Leonord said his staff hasn’t yet found “a substantial reason to deny the (re-zoning) request.”
The re-zoning request would have to be approved by the planning board and then by the city council.

South Korean businesses are sprucing up to receive Chinese tourists during the Lunar New Year holidays, hoping the free-spending visitors bring a welcome boon to their otherwise slow business.

Avoid the crowds of high season and discover Cape Cod in the winter time! There are plenty of activities as well as restaurants to choose from.

Most visitors to Cape Cod come in the summer to indulge in ice cream, beaches, boat rides and mini golf. Although the Cape is beautiful and full of fun things to do in the summer, it is also a wonderful place to visit in the winter. There are even some benefits of visiting Cape Cod in the winter: no traffic on Route 28 or parking fees at the beach!
