Having enjoyed visits to both the Tate Modern and Tate St Ives galleries, I was particularly interested to see member Eyeflares post on the Tate Liverpool recently.

Not surprisingly, given its heritage, the Tate Liverpool apparently has one of the largest art collections in Britain outside of London. Along with its free permanent exhibitions, it also has a number of visiting (not free!) exhibitions of late it has hosted exhibitions featuring Gustav Klimt, Peter Blake and Lewis Carrol of Alice in Wonderland, just to name a few. And its also very good at putting on varying kinds of tours and educational experiences for different groups of visitors to the gallery.

So while you may head there with other kinds of Liverpool sightseeing in mind something Beatles related for certain, and perhaps a football game it sounds like it is well worth your time to also stop by the Tate Liverpool while youre there.
